Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that will be presented at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance provisions, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Accrington, you must be at least 21 years old, though specific age limits may apply based on the vehicle type, with extra charges for those under 25. You need to possess a valid driving license that corresponds to the vehicle category, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address are required, along with payment details and a security deposit. Please ensure you meet any additional criteria mentioned in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or at our Accrington office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required upon picking up the vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT if applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage, which must be reported immediately. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an associated administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage information and excess details in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. It is important to review these options closely. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless further coverage is obtained. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. The vehicle must not be sub-let or driven by unauthorized individuals. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purposes and within specified passenger and weight limits. Driving outside designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Accrington is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in that region.
10. Updates to Terms
